"It wasn't something I had to do," Choi says of his thespian beginnings. “I don't know if it's a thing in the States, but in Korea, parents send their kids to [extracurricular] academies [after school]. It could be taekwondo, it could be singing…. For me, it was acting. [My parents] suggested it, and I was just like, 'Yeah, sure, why not? I'll just try it.'”
Before the rest of the cast joined Choi and Lee in Seoul , Zoom was the preferred method of communication. When Choi first saw Cathcart on Zoom, his reaction was one manylong-time watchers can relate to: "'Oh, Kitty grew up,'" Choi says, reenacting his initial astonishment to perfection. "I had just watched all of the [] movies right before I did the chemistry read," he says, trying to justify the shock since Cathcart and Choi are barely a year apart in real life.
