Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco Series, Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg, and the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L are all getting a wider launch.
Xiaomi has revealed that it has global ambitions for its smart home business, with the Chinese tech giant announcing the launch its first wave of Mijia major appliances outside of China. The launch, which was part of a wider announcement at an event in Munich this week, includes the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco Series, Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg, and the hefty Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L.
Xiaomi has been selling white goods in China since 2013, quietly becoming a heavyweight in its homeland. In Q1 2025, shipments of its air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines each grew more than 65% year-on-year, helping the brand secure fourth place in all three categories.“This launch is a vital milestone in expanding our Human × Car × Home strategy into global markets,” Angus Ng, Xiaomi’s Director of International Communications told me. “It brings ‘Home’ into the international mix and shows how our ecosystem translates beyond phones,” he added. This being 2025, of course there’s an AI-angle to launch, with Ng telling me that the company wants to move beyond “connected” and into “adaptive.”Ng explained how the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco, for example, personalizes its user settings by using advanced algorithms to learn user preferences and automatically adjust cooling or heating settings based on daily habits and real-time environmental sensing.Additionally, the Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro features an AI Laundry Expert, which recommends washing programs based on past usage and remembers preferred settings.“Collectively, these innovations are not just about smart features,” he said. “They represent a design philosophy focused on making daily life simpler, more efficient, and more sustainable. “The underlying advantage is building an intuitive, seamless, and smart ecosystem: devices that talk to each other, learn from real use across contexts, and simplify daily routines as part of a connected whole,” he added. These new connected appliances boast full integration with Xiaomi Home, HyperOS Connect, and, as Ng mentioned, form part of the company’s broader “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem, with phones, TVs, wearables, and even Xiaomi’s EVs in the mix.“We are actively evaluating Matter compatibility for specific products and will seek certification where it brings clear benefits to users,” he said. “We believe that providing the best experience for users is essential, but this doesn’t have to be done by us alone.” He told me that Xiaomi is already working with partners such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa to offer smart home ecosystem compatibility and that Apple HomeKit support is also “being explored.” Despite pumping over $3 billion into R&D in 2024 and filing more than 42,000 patents globally, No insisted that affordability won’t disappear as Xiaomi makes its way into new regions. “Value and innovation are not contradictory for Xiaomi, they are complementary,” Ng said. “Our global supply chain and vertically integrated R&D allow us to deliver advanced technology at highly competitive prices. For now, the global rollout covers three key categories, but Ng hinted that this is just the start. “While we’re introducing three major appliance categories today, our roadmap certainly includes a broader range of appliances,” he said. “Our goal is to bring a comprehensive portfolio to international users in the coming years, step by step.” In other words, expect things like ovens, air purifiers, dishwashers and more with Xiaomi’s AIoT brains on board sooner rather than later. The Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco Series costs from €599, the Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg is €579 and the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L will set you back €849. They are all slated to land later this year. Xiaomi also used the Munich launch event to take the covers off of a duo of new robot vacuum cleaners, headlined by the 5Pro which boasts a bunch of flagship features and a whopping 20,000Pa suction rating for just €799. There’s also the C701 4K security camera, which has AI smarts and dual-bad Wi-Fi 6 at a price-tag less than €60.
