Latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip as Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi emerges as a target for United
United are continuing to be linked with several potential new signings as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his squad. Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have already signed this summer and there looks likely to be further additions arriving at Old Trafford in the weeks to come.
United do have an interest in Zubimendi as the club continue to assess potential midfield targets, with the 25-year-old reported to have a £53million release clause in his contract. The Reds have already been told by Xabi Alonso why they would be wise to sign the Spain international. "Martin’s a player all coaches would want,” Alonso told The Guardian in September 2022. “He’s generous, he always thinks more about his teammates than himself.
United are continuing to step up their pre-season preparations ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Ten Hag and Co. have already had friendlies against Rosenborg and Rangers and will now travel to the United States for three more friendly matches.
