A lo largo de siete meses de tensas negociaciones, el aseo diario obligatorio de habitaciones de hotel era uno de los principales reclamos por los cuales luchaban los trabajadores hoteleros en sus primeros contratos desde la pandemia: Estabilidad laboral, mejores condiciones de trabajo y seguridad.

Desde el inicio de las negociaciones, Ted Pappageorge, principal negociador del Sindicato de Trabajadores Culinarios —que representa a los trabajadores de hoteles, restaurantes y casinos— dijo que las decenas de miles de empleados cuyos contratos caducaron meses atrás estaban dispuestos a declararse en huelga para que el aseo diario de las habitaciones fuese obligatorio. “Las Vegas tiene que ofrecer servicios completos”, dijo el mes pasado.
