Wylie ISD officials are considering a partnership with Collin College to build a new career and technical education building at the Collin College Wylie campus.
The new facility would support the district’s career and technical education and dual credit programs, according to Wylie ISD officialsWylie ISD Deputy Superintendent Kim Spicer speaks to school board member about a potential partnership with Collin College for a new career and technology education building at a Tuesday board meeting.Plans are in the early stages and nothing has been finalized, but it would be built at the Collin College Wylie campus.
“We want our kids to be able to have access, and sometimes that might be after school because that might be what works best in regards to life,” Spicer said. District staff will also ask Collin College to commit to a range of how much of the costs it will cover in the construction of the building.If the district and Collin College agree to build a new facility, the district will use a portion of theSuperintendent David Vinson said about $20 million was set aside for a new career and technology building.
