He reportedly nearly died back in December after suffering a heart attack in an Atlanta airport.
“While traveling through the Atlanta Airport his darkest fear became a horrific reality as he went into cardiac arrest,” she wrote. “He is currently in the ICU and has undergone an emergency procedure to save his life. As a family, we are impatiently waiting to hear that he will be okay. But as of now, the future is uncertain.”
Windham was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012. He was in the legendary “Four Horseman” group alongside Anderson, Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard. He rose to fame through the NWA, and signed with the WWE — then the WWF — in 1984. He went to the AWA in 1986, and also worked for Jim Crockett Promotions from 1986-1989.
