The crashes happened in just the span of a few days, starting Saturday night.

Though no troopers were seriously injured, a tow truck driver responding to one of the crash scenes was hospitalized after a distracted driver crashed into a WSP unit blocking traffic. “He saw another vehicle where the driver was slumped over the wheel, and he couldn't wake the person up or get their attention, and the vehicle started rolling,” WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said. The trooper put his vehicle in front of that vehicle to stop it from rolling into the intersection and got hit in the process. WSP said that the driver was arrested for suspected impaired driving.
Both troopers were not seriously hurt, but it wasn’t long before yet another crash there with a trooper headed to help with that crash scene.
