As part of WSFA 12 News’ commitment to keeping voters informed, we’re hosting another debate, this time focusing on the four candidates who made it into runoff races for Alabama’s newly-drawn 2nd Congressional District.
MOBILE, Ala. - The race for Alabama's newly-redrawn 2nd congressional district is headed for a runoff.
The Republican runoff will feature businessman and former state Sen. Dick Brewbaker against attorney Caroleen Dobson. The Democrat runoff will feature Shomari Figures, a former deputy chief of staff to the U.S. AG Merrick Garland, against Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels. The four candidates recently joined WSFA and WALA for the latest debate, which was recorded at Government Plaza in Mobile. The event was held in partnership with the Alabama Republican Party, the Alabama Democratic Party and the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.In addition to being seen on-air and on WSFA’s website and mobile news app, they will be made available afterward for on-demand viewing.
The GOP controls the U.S. House by a razor thin margin.
