WSFA 12 News is hosting runoff debates for the Republican and Democratic candidates vying for their party's nomination in Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. The Republican runoff features Dick Brewbaker and Caroleen Dobson, while the Democratic runoff features Shomari Figures and Anthony Daniels.

MOBILE, Ala. - WSFA 12 News is kicking off the first of two days of runoff debates Monday focused on Alabama ’s 2nd Congressional District.

The Republican runoff, which airs Monday, will feature businessman and former state Sen. Dick Brewbaker against attorney Caroleen Dobson. The Democrat runoff, which airs Tuesday, will feature Shomari Figures, a former deputy chief of staff to the U.S. AG Merrick Garland, against Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels.

Both debates will air during the 4 p.m. hour on their designated days, preempting our regular First at Four newscast.
