A section of the New Jersey Turnpike was shut down for about three hours early Sunday after a car traveling in the wrong direction collided with two other vehicles, police said.
The incident occurred a short distance from the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Carneys Point Township just after 1:30 p.m., according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman. A car traveling south in the northbound lanes collided with an SUV and another car, sending three patients to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
