Elfyn Evans made a clean sweep of stage wins on Saturday morning to more than double his RallyFinland lead Full WRC update ⬇️
The wet weather that plagued Friday continued as crews tackled the brand new stage 11 in slippery conditions.
In the battle for third overall, Suninen was able to take 0.8s out of the deficit to Katsuta, who had to alter his pacenotes for the start of the stage, which necessitated a careful approach. Evans was 0.3s down on Neuville’s effort at the penultimate split, but a stellar final section resulting in a 0.7s swing, handed the Toyota driver a second stage win.
"I just spun. It was so slippery, I lost the line a bit and could not manage it. I had to reverse and it cost a lot of time,” said Katsuta. Katsuta started his recovery from dropping down to fourth by taking 0.3s out of Suninen to close the gap between the podium fighting duo down to 1.9s.
