McCarthy also would agree to have the House vote on bills such as congressional term limits and allow more of the body’s most conservative members to serve on the Rules Committee that controls the flow of legislation and dictates terms of floor debate. Cloud said Wednesday night as he left the Capitol that the fight, for him, has always been about process rather than personality.

Crenshaw took to Twitter to push back on those, including conservative Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, who are saying such language crosses a line.. “You can’t insult, slander, and hold everyone hostage with no way out - and not expect me to punch back. Grow thicker skin.
“It’s not like the people sitting in . . . Minneapolis, are going ‘oh my god, we don’t have a speaker. Well, how am I going to go to work today?’” Roy said.
