Some, like TNT's Charles Barkley, believed Joel Embiid's groin kick was 'worse than Draymond's' infraction
During Game 3 of the first-round series between the 76ers and the Nets, Brooklyn center Nic Claxton finished an alley-oop dunk next to Embiid, which caused the Philly big man to fall to the ground. Claxton stared down Embiid before attempting to step over his opponent. Before he could complete the step, Embiid kicked his leg up right into Claxton’s groin.
Embiid was assessed a flagrant-1 foul for the incident, meaning that the Nets got to shoot two free throws and keep possession. However, what was more salient for any Warriors fans watching was the fact that Embiid was allowed to stay in the game.Golden State, meanwhile, has to face the Sacramento Kings in a must-win Game 3 without Green after the Dubs veteran stomped on Domantas Sabonis in retaliation for the Kings big man grabbing Green’s ankle during a fast break.
“Listen, we all have our own opinion,” Barkley continued. “I thought he tried to kick him in his private parts. He should have got ejected. That’s just my personal opinion.”
