A national World War II museum exhibit is coming to Garland.
“Manufacturing Victory: The Arsenal of Democracy” tells the story of the country’s rapid domestic production of tanks, planes, ships, and guns, and how that shaped both the war abroad and U.S. society during World War II, according to The National WWII Museum.
The 1500 square-foot exhibit will open June 6, the 78th anniversary of D-Day, in Garland City Hall. It will include wartime artifacts, photographs, interactive audio and video exhibits and panels about Garland’s war-era production history. Since manufacturing for World War II took off,The exhibit debuted at The National WWII Museum in 2014. Now, the display travels across the country.
Garland is scheduled to be the only Texas city to host the exhibit this year. It will be available throughout the summer.
