DARTS lovers are in for a treat as the World Grand Prix is now UNDERWAY - and there are some blockbuster ties to kick start the tournament! After another thrilling match we've got one more to go here in Leicester with Gian van Geen playing Ross Smith any minute now.He then can't follow that early pressure and Littler eyes in two treble 19s to leave himself an 87 checkout - but misses the double seven.
Littler then takes his chance and punches in a 165 and then fires in tops to steal it back from Cross. This is much more like it from Littler! Consecutive 180s to put all sorts of pressure on Cross, but on the checkout he misses a big chance by going an odd way round the board, giving him just one chance at a double rather than two.Another good start from Cross to keep the pressure on Littler, who is looking a wee bit flustered - just briefly - but Cross can't follow up.
Littler has the first opportunity but can't hit a double top and then Cross takes advantage to steal that set. Littler then fails to hit a double in his first visit but manages to fire in some trebles to get back neck and neck. Littler fails to score high and Cross has a couple of attempts at the board to checkout - he misses the first three but then when he comes back he hits a double 8 and levels up.Littler promptly hits a 180 in his second trip to the oche as 'there's only one Luke Littler' ringing out around the arena.
Extremely tough to disagree with that assessment and clearly both players couldn't believe what had just happened either.
