AOSTA VALLEY, Italy - A World Cup skier and his girlfriend were found dead after they fell approximately 2, 300 feet Saturday.and his girlfriend 27-year-old Elisa Arlian, died after they fell approximately 2, 300 feet off Mount Zerbion in Italy. Per the outlet, the couple had met at the popular skiing destination for a hike.
Family members contacted authorities after the couple failed to return from the hike, per TMZ, which reported that three helicopters were sent to the area to assist with the search effort. Per the outlet, the bodies of Pession and Arlian were found buried in the snow hours later. It is believed that the couple fell over 2,000 feet, per TMZ., posted to X by the official Tg3 account, that Pession and Arlian "were almost at the summit, just a step away, when suddenly they were betrayed by the mountain they loved so much.
