NRL: Zac Lomax doesn't feel like he can win a premiership at the Dragons and believes that is the same reason Ben Hunt also left the club.
Michael Maguire said on Monday that conversations between the Broncos and Ben Hunt are a “work in progress” as the halfback eyes a potential return to Red Hill.The Dragons confirmed last Wednesday that Hunt would immediately be departing the club despite having one year remaining on his deal worth a reported $1 million per-season.
“What it does say is a fair bit about the place and the experiences he’s had. Someone of his calibre coming in and around players we have shows how special the Broncos is. I will talk to the right people once he finishes with the Aussies.” Teams like the Roosters, who reportedly have a mountain of cap space available, would be able to blow Brisbane’s potential contract out of the water.
“He is going through a bit. I said ‘if you own it you can deal with it moving forward’, and that is something I know he is doing.”
