A temporary closure of the Wares Ferry Road bridge in Montgomery is in effect starting Thursday.
The bridge is located about 900 feet north of the intersection of Wares Ferry Road and McLemore Drive. The City of Montgomery says the bridge has experienced structural stress that “now poses a potential safety risk” due to structural deficiencies found in previous inspections and “continuous use by vehicles exceeding the posted 3-ton weight restriction.
