will begin to phase out their 15c plastic shopping bags from stores in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania from today, to reduce plastic waste.retailer has already phased out the reusable plastic bags in ACT, NT, SA, WA and Queensland but by June no stores will be selling the bags in Australia.bags had responded well to the change."The move will see more than 1800 tonnes of plastic removed from circulation annually across the state," a Woolworths spokesperson said.
Their bags are made out of 80 per cent recycled plastics and are designed to be for customers who forget to bring their own bags to the store.Coles still offers their "Better Bags", which are also made from 80 per cent recycled materials.
