After 27 years, and with life and economic changes, Hudson decided it was time to close the store. Dec. 22 is scheduled to be its last day.When she opened the fibre store in 1995, yarn was viewed as a necessity. These days, especially with people struggling in the current economy, it’s considered more of a luxury item, Hudson added.
Shortly after opening, she started collecting donated yarn and inviting volunteers to knit or crochet blanket squares, clothing and accessories for local charities.
