⛳ Woodhall Spa Golf Club's pathway closure: A fairway dispute or a hole in one?
Residents of Woodhall Spa have expressed concern over the recent closure of a thoroughfare by Woodhall Spa Golf Club.
Since it was shut off, complainants to Lincolnshire County Council have argued that the closure has disrupted the flow from one part of the village to another. The appeal to move the case higher in the list of priorities was heard at a meeting of Lincolnshire County Council's Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way Subcommittee on Tuesday.
However, Councillor Rob Gibson had a different perspective."I appreciate the walk is going to be nicer and pretty and that’s lovely but it doesn’t give them the right to walk through a business," he stated.This means the the case is now set to be position 27 in a list of 404 similar cases. The process to investigate and potentially reverse the closure could take several years, and may even involve a public enquiry.
