The film focuses on younger Willy - a character from the 1964 Roald Dahl's famous book Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory. Wonka is the third film based on the book - in 1971 Gene Wilder starred as Willy in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and in 2015 Johnny Depp starred as Willy in the Tim Burton take on the book.
The trailer opens with Hugh's character - an Oompa Loompa called Lofty - getting caught by Timothee's Willy - as they meet for the first time. He is seen sneaking in to steal what appears to be milk chocolate and white chocolate treats in a jar
