Wonder Woman #1 is exactly what fans think.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! Spoilers for Wonder Woman #1 ahead!Fans of the iconic DC hero can rest easy as Tom King and Daniel Sampere's Wonder Woman #1 lives up to the hype that's been brewing for weeks. As the world changes for DC's Amazons, King and Sampere deliver a poignant and powerful introductory tale.

Months ago, DC Comics announced that Wonder Woman was being relaunched under its Dawn of DC banner and that Tom King and Daniel Sampere would be leading Diana into this new era of hers. Fans got a preview of what they could expect in Wonder Woman #800, which featured a story by the creative team that introduced Wonder Woman's future daughter, Elizabeth Marston Prince, aka Trinity.

Wonder Woman #1 Starts Off with Bold, Intriguing Premise King and Sampere's Wonder Woman #1 kicks off with an Amazon getting into a bar fight after a man inappropriately touches her, leading the Amazon to kill nearly twenty men in the bar. The media runs wild with the story and the government responds to the panic and fear, creating a new task force known as the Amazon Extradition Entity to detain and deport Amazons from the United States.

There's no doubt at all that Wonder Woman is packed with political commentary. From start to finish, the story is packed with allegories regarding the reactionary nature of legislature and the real effect hatred, bigotry, and persecution have on society. King does not hold back in his work nor does Sampere, whose action scenes are quite engaging and excellently capture the story's more emotional moments. The book moves at a solid pace, right up until the final page.

Wonder Woman #1 is Definitely Worth the Hype Ever since this new era for Wonder Woman was announced, early words have been praising this book, calling it one of the best new directions for Diana in a long time. And yes, this book earns every good word about it. It's got action, emotional weight, timely and much-needed commentary, stellar art, and big, dynamic changes that promise big things for the DC Universe.
