Community members are contributing to the holiday cheer with caroling and a special visit from Santa Claus, while guests can marvel at over-the-top decorations. Admission is free, but tickets are required for skating and curling.
New City Plaza in Lincoln Park has been transformed into a great stop for outdoor activities this holiday week.The "Wonder City" pop-up offers curling and ice skating outside, along with crafts and more inside."So this weekend we’re going to be having a very special ornament painting workshop," said Virginia Rose, the Wonder City general manager.
"We actually have some carolers that are going to be coming in singing while our special guest Santa Claus is going to be taking photos with different families," she said.Guests will need a reservation for Santa, but anyone is welcome to take photos near over-the-top decorations like a giant snowman or holiday wreath.The curling and skating require tickets."Just come into our box office and we’ll get you all set up," said Rose.
