A technology startup looking to refine research tools for drug and toxicity testing in the human liver has been crowned the winner of Women Who Tech’s European startup challenge.
It was announced the winner during an awards ceremony at Paris City Hall, Hôtel de Ville, after 10 finalists pitched their ideas to investors and global health leaders like Sarah Fisher, Johnson & Johnson; Jean-Louis Missika, deputy mayor of Paris; and Anne Horgan, partner of Advent France Biotechnology.
Noushin Dianat, CEO and cofounder of Cyprio, said:"Hepatotoxicity, the toxicity caused to the liver, is the first and major reason for termination of the development of a new drug in clinical phases and its retraction from the market. To solve these challenges, Dianat believes that a “reliable and long-life liver mimicking research tool is a big need in the pharma industry.”
