Women journalists are blazing new trails – developing new platforms, telling underreported stories, impacting their communities, and much more. The IWMF shares its 2021 “Women to Watch” list:

, global journalists received opportunities for training, mentorship, reporting and recognition. Below, learn about some of the amazing women in our community whose stories you don’t want to miss. S. Mitra Kalita is shifting the media narrative as the co-founder of URL Media. Having received seed funding from the IWMF’sis now a blossoming network of eight Black and Brown news outlets across the U.S. whose purpose is to “uplift, respect and love the communities we serve.”not only advanced her leadership skills, but brought her to a new path in her career.
aleria Fernández are taking on conversations about women’s health from a human perspective. Their conversations on wellness are changing the narrative for Latinx women, using humor, inclusivity and vulnerability to share new perspectives. *Quote translation:"Since we met while reporting immigration stories in Arizona and the border, we dreamed of having a space to talk about women's issues, without taboos, with our journalistic approach, but from a very real and human perspective. The IWMF has been a foundation and a loudspeaker for our work. We are journalists #ConAcentoyConTalento."
