Colorado’s star point guard announced that she has decided to return to the women’s basketball team for a fifth and final season.
Jaylyn Sherrod isn’t ready to leave Boulder.
The NCAA granted all players from the 2020-21 season an extra year of eligibility and Sherrod has elected to take advantage. Sherrod averaged a career-best 11.3 points per game this season. She also had career highs in total assists , total steals , assist-to-turnover ratio , field goal percentage and 3-point percentage .
For her career, Sherrod has started 99 of her 106 games, including each of her last 77 games. She has averaged 9.9 points, 4.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals. She has scored 1,047 points and ranks sixth at CU in career assists and 11th in steals . She’s one of only five players in program history with at least 1,000 points, 450 assists and 200 steals.
