'Am I next?' This was the question on every speaker's lips on Friday afternoon at the home of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee where a candlelight memorial service was held in honour of his slain daughter Hillary.
A group of women clad in black clothing, some in red and others in black doeks, gathered at the Gardee home in Mbombela as they carried candles in honour of slain Hillary Gardee.“Am I next?” This was the question on every speaker's lips on Friday afternoon at the home of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee where a candlelight memorial service was held in honour of his slain daughter Hillary.
Arriving at the Gardee home, mourners lit candles, which they said represented hope and the light that they would like to leave at the Gardee homestead. “Hillary was such a kind and generous young woman. She was one of the hardest working young people I know. She had big dreams and was putting in so much work to make them a reality,” Makushe said.
