Natalie Bennett, 47, murdered her partner Kasey Anderson, 24, after attacking him on Saturday, March 11. She plunged a knife into his chest and attempted to stab him in the head as he lay dying on a neighbour's driveway, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Two of the jury members were also seen to be in tears and Kasey's auntie Denise Anderson was heard to say "justice for my lad" as she left the courtroom. Last week Richard Pratt KC told the jury of four men and eight women during the prosecution's opening that Bennett's next door neighbours "heard raised voices" coming from the address at around 5.30pm on the day of the murder, before finding Kasey "banging and kicking at their door" around 45 minutes later.
While he was on the phone many of his answers were said to have been "incoherent", and he was heard vomiting such were the severity of his wounds. Kasey was later found to have suffered more superficial slash wounds to his neck, right shoulder, lower back and left forearm, and also a "shallow" stab wound on his right lower leg.
"The slash wounds may have been superficial in nature and the stab to the leg may be of a shallow depth, but together they demonstrate a concerted attack which provides the background for the fatal wound to the chest.
