JOHOR BARU: A 46-year-old housewife who was on her way to visit her child warded at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) here rammed her vehicle into a concrete pillar.
“The woman, who does not possess a valid driver’s licence, accidentally stepped on the accelerator pedal while making a turn at the hospital’s main lobby.
“As a result, she lost control of her car and rammed the front right part of the vehicle into a nearby concrete pillar.“After the incident, we found out that the woman actually does not have a valid licence and she was issued a summonses under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 ,” he said in a statement Tuesday .
Meanwhile, Johor health and unity committee chairman said the crash left some scratch marks on the pillar and there was no other damage to HSA’s infrastructure.“As a safety measure, she was brought to the hospital’s emergency and trauma department to be given medical attention,” he said, advising the public to be more careful when handling their vehicles, especially at places with vulnerable people such as hospitals.
