Police say they will investigate the driver for reckless or dangerous driving after her car headed the wrong way on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in George Town.
Penang police said the woman who drove against the flow of traffic on Monday night claimed she had panicked.
Penang police chief Khaw Kok Chin said the 41-year-old woman, who works as a bank officer in the state, claimed she accidentally entered the wrong lane after dining at a restaurant on Persiaran Karpal Singh. “She also claimed not to know how to turn back and continued on her journey. However, the police are still conducting further investigations,” Khaw said at a press conference here today.
