HARRISBURG, Pa. — A woman who banned herself from Pennsylvania casinos for life was escorted out of one last week after she sneaked in and won a slot machine jackpot, Pennsylvania State Police said they were called to the Hollywood Casino in Grantville on May 31 after the casino identified the guest on the gaming floor as a 69-year-old New Jersey woman who had added herself to a self-exclusion list for a lifetime ban in 2019.
Self-identified gamblers can add themselves to the list for one or five years or even for life, said the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board . It's unclear if the woman will get to keep the jackpot. PGCB spokesperson Doug Harbach has said in the past that jackpots are forfeited by self-excluded gamblers and instead go to the PCGB to help fight gambling addiction. A similar incident happened in 2025 when a lifetime self-excluded gambler won $57,000 in a Pennsylvania casino. He did not get to keep the jackpot.
