A woman testified Tuesday she confronted an Illinois man via text after he raped her.
Corrie D. Westbrook, 29, of Park Forest, Illinois, is on trial this week, charged with rape, a Level 3 felony. He has pleaded not guilty. They were friends and went out that night, ending up at a bar. After one drink, “I felt off.” she said. She remembered walking through her door. Then, she woke up intermittently to Westbrook sexually assaulting, then raping her. He claimed she was vomiting and sent a Snapchat video of her passed out, court records state.
She wasn’t interested in the younger man. “I said the only thing I could offer is friendship and he accepted that,” she said, earlier in her testimony. The woman told police she went out April 17, 2021 for dinner with Westbrook, leaving a pizza place before getting food, because it was closing, then stopping at a bowling alley for drinks, but leaving without purchasing any, because it was too busy, before heading to a Munster bar.
