Police are searching for two suspects.
KIRO 7 News StaffSEATTLE — Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed in the leg while on a Link light rail train on Tuesday night, according to the Seattle Police Department.
At about 10 p.m., a female suspect stabbed the victim in the legs after a verbal altercation. The victim suffered minor injuries and exited the train at the Roosevelt Station, just east of Green Lake. Police say it is unclear if the stabbing occurred while the train was in motion or once it arrived at the station.
The suspect was traveling with a man at the time of the incident. The pair stayed on the train following the incident, continuing to travel north towards Northgate. In a statement to KIRO 7, Sound Transit said assaults on light rail are rare. The agency encourages passengers to contact security by phone or text at 206-398-5268 if they see anything happening that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
