The shooting happened on a sidewalk in the 0-100 block of West Washington Street, Chicago police said. Police could also be seen investigating at the Macy's store on State Street.A 19-year-old woman was shot by an unknown male offender while walking with a group of people on the sidewalk, CPD said. She was taken to Northwestern hospital in critical condition, CFD officials said.
Another crime scene could be seen on the site of the shooting on Washington Street nearby. It was not immediately clear why the investigation also included the Macy's store. The Macy's store is located at State Street and Randolph Street downtown, near ABC7 Chicago's State Street Studios.
