LAKE COUNTY , Ohio - One man is in custody after a nearly five-hour standoff at a home in Painesville Township.
Lake County Sheriff deputies said the man shot a woman inside the West Jackson Street house around 10 p.m. Monday and then refused to surrender. The Lake County Sheriff’s SWAT Team was called to the scene and deputies said the man, identified as Jeffry Wyman, 63, came out peacefully around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.Wyman is charged with felonious assault and booked into the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Jail. Lt. Larry Harpster said additional charges are possible.
The victim, a 56-year-old woman, was transported by Painesville Township Rescue to UH-Tripoint Medical Center and then flown by medical helicopter to University Hospitals in Cleveland.
