The suspect in the shooting, also a 21-year-old woman, was still hospitalized in stable condition this weekend after she was shot by a police officer on Friday, Miller said. The suspect’s wounds are not considered life-threatening. Her name has not been released. A witness told police he followed the suspect on foot and identified her as the one who was the shooter, police say. Officers reportedly noticed the woman had a gun and chased her on foot to a parking lot on East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue. At some point during the encounter, one officer fired his weapon, striking the victim, police say.
A separate internal investigation will be conducted by the Office of Professional Standards and Accountability.
