A death investigation is underway after police say a woman's body was pulled from a Scottsdale canal on Saturday. Scottsdale Police say someone walking along the canal near Indian Bend and Hayden Roads spotted a body in the water at around 8 a.
m. on March 28.Officers and firefighters recovered the body from the canal.The woman was identified as 28-year-old Passion Schurz, who was reported from the Salt River-Pima Maricopa Indian Community on March 22. Police said her specific tattoos, physical characteristics and clothing description helped identify the body. It's unclear how the woman died."We can confirm that there were no injuries related to fractures, stab wounds, or gunshot wounds," police said."This is not the outcome anyone looking for Passion Schurz was hoping for. We extend our most heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and community during this difficult time," Scottsdale Police said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Scottsdale Police at 480-312-5000. The Medical Examiner will determine her official cause of death. Scottsdale Police are working with Salt River Police and the Medical Examiner to investigate the incident.Map of area where the body was found:
