The body of a woman was recovered Monday morning from the Fox River in Carpentersville.
A woman's body was retrieved from Fox River Monday morning in the area of Bolz and Williams roads in Carpentersville, police said.Police Chief Patrick Hoey said the victim was found sometime before 8:30 a.m. in an area near Bolz and Williams roads. The Kane County Forest Preserve District, Algonquin Police Department and Kane County Coroner’s Office were assisting in the investigation, he said.
There is no confirmation that the woman might be the same one being sought by Algonquin police, who put out an alert Sunday for the public’s help in finding Kimberly Koerner, 52, who was last seen about 9 a.m. Sunday morning walking outside the Jewel-Osco, 1501 E. Algonquin Road.Koerner, described as standing about 5-foot-6, weighing about 130 pounds and having straight, black, shoulder-length hair, was believed to be en route to the store but never went inside, the alert said.
She was last seen wearing a white winter jacket with a fur hood, black sweatpants and flip-flops. The alert said a doorbell camera captured her image Sunday as she walked along Greenridge Avenue in the village, which is only a few blocks from the river.Mike Danahey is a freelance reporter for The Courier-News.
