A woman posted as a babysitter, then trafficked an eight year-old girl to a hotel so she and a truck driver pal could abuse her, police say. Kristen Milsap reportedly delivered the friend’s daughter to Michael Travers, 54, with the pair then allegedly molesting her. Travers was jailed for at least 17 years on Tuesday after he was convicted of abusing the girl in West Valley City, Utah, between January and April last year.
Charges against Milsap are still pending, with prosecutors claiming the suspected pedophile would tell the victim’s family she needed the girl to come with her to a local Comfort Inn hotel to help babysit another child. Once there, they subjected the child to horrific abuse, with Millsap also taking photos of herself abusing the child, prosecutors say.The abuse ended when the girl told her mother what was happening, prompting her to contact police.
Travers, who traveled through Utah with work, is said to have forwarded the photographs to another pedophile. He and Milsap were arrested last May. Detectives have said the victim and her family were known to Milsap, but have not elaborated further to protect the victim’s privacy. Travers struck a plea deal in December 2019 which saw him admit to production of child pornography, in return for having child sexual abuse charges dropped. Milsap is set to be tried for the same offenses at a later date.
