A mom is missing in Stanislaus County, California, after she jumped into the San Joaquin River to help her daughter, who was struggling to keep her head above the water.

While her son was able to get himself and his sister out of the river to receive medical attention, Ms. Duran did not make her way out of the river. Ms. Duran’s husband, Jaime Aguilar, told KCRA-TV that she is a “very thriving person, always smiling, never giving up and very compassionate,” and that the family, including cousins, have been searching for hours along with responding agencies.
