A woman's attempt to find her seat on a flight went hilariously wrong when she misread the number, leading to a memorable 'walk of shame' incident.

A woman was left doing the 'walk of shame' after making an awkward mistake when it came to her designated seat on her flight. Magda Wu was flying from the U.K. back to China, with a layover in Frankfurt Airport in Germany. When she was on the first leg of her flight, she read her seat number wrong and was left embarrassed when she was corrected.

In a viral video posted to TikTok, which has received over 161,000 views since it was shared last week, Wu explains how she read her seat, which was 0 20D, as 02 0D. 'I confidently sat in row 2,' she wrote in the text overlay of the video. 'Had to do the walk of shame,' she joked. She told Newsweek: 'I felt so awkward about the seating mistake. After I sat down, I happily greeted the elderly man next to me, but his partner was sitting in a different spot.' The lady told me that I might've taken the wrong seat because they were told no one would be sitting next to them. I showed my ticket to both of them. I even told her, 'If you want to switch seats, I'm happy to do that.'' After everyone had boarded, the flight attendant came over and said I might be in the wrong seat. I pulled out my ticket again and explained it's zero 2 zero D. She pointed at my ticket and said, 'No, this is twenty D.' I could totally hear the laughter from the people behind me. I apologized, stood up, and the lady next to me said, 'Enjoy your flight,' and I replied, 'You too!' The difference between 2 and 20 was huge, so I had to walk all the way to the rear of the plane.' She added that she felt 'embarrassed' after the plane had landed and realized the seats at the front were probably premium seats. Wu was among the millions of people who traveled by plane in what was almost a record-breaking year for air travel. According to Statista, the number of flights taken this year was 38.7 million, nearly beating the pre-pandemic record of 38.9 million in 2019
