Neighbours were evacuated after the fire broke out on Wednesday night
A woman jumped from an upstairs window as a fire ripped through her home on Wednesday night . Neighbours were evacuated and two dogs were also rescued as huge clouds of smoke billowed overhead after the house caught fire on Andover Avenue, in Alkrington, Middleton.
She was taken to hospital for treatment and sustained injuries that police say are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening at this time.Police and fire crews remained at the scene for three hours as the blaze was eventually brought under control. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
"The neighbours on either side of the property were evacuated as a precaution but it wasn’t believed there was any damage and they were allowed back in."
