The 69-year-old was floored by Katie Taylor, 37, and another woman before they snatched his wallet and phone in Hull last November. He told police he had ‘never seen anything as horrible’ as the attack, which has left him feeling vulnerable and fragile, the city’s crown court heard.
An employee at a local shop refused to help him, so he headed to an off-licence where a female assistant telephoned the police on his behalf. The man provided a description of his attackers which police were able to match to Taylor’s profile, and he subsequently picked her out at an identity parade. The second assailant has not been identified. Remembering the attack, the victim said: ‘I have never seen anything as horrible as what happened during this incident.
