A woman was injured when someone opened fire at a family gathering, officials said

A woman was injured early Tuesday at an apartment complex near Interstate 45 when a person fired a gun into a crowd of people, officials said. Officers responded to a report of a shooting near Interstate 45 and South Green Drive around 3:15 a.m. and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg, investigators with the Houston Police Department told On Scene reporters.
Witnesses told police several people held a family gathering at the apartment complex when a disturbance happened and someone pulled out a gun and shot into a group.She was taken to a hospital where her condition was stabilized.
