A Curry County grand jury indicted a Clovis woman who told police she shot her ex-boyfriend during a burglary.at her home in the 700 block of Dawn Loop.Romero was in the process of getting a restraining order against Jimenez.
District Attorney Quentin Ray said grand jurors were presented with the law regarding “second-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and self-defense, and that’s what they came back with.” He said voluntary manslaughter is considered “unlawful killing with sufficient provocation kind of the heat of the moment without due thought the heat of passion.”
