Police have arrested a woman in her early thirties in connection with the snatching of a baby at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
JOHANNESBURG - A woman who was found with the newborn baby that was abducted from the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital has been taken in by police for questioning. The baby was found in a house in Diepkloof, Soweto on Friday morning after being taken by an unknown woman from the hospital's ante-natal ward on Thursday afternoon.Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said police are still searching for the accomplice who was caught on CCTV footage leaving the hospital with the baby.
"At this stage, investigations are still continuing, we are not sure how many people were involved in the abduction of the child but we will release more information as it becomes available," said Dlamini.
