Woman in critical condition after neighbors fired shots into a West Side backyard
A 20-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was shot by residents of a neighboring house Saturday evening in the city’s West Side.
The victim told police that she and three men, two in their early 20s and one aged 40, were shooting two pistols into the ground while in the backyard of a house in the 6500 block of West Commerce Street. She said people in the house behind them came out and began shooting guns into the yard where the victim and witnesses had been shooting pistols.
The woman was shot in the upper right leg, according to the San Antonio Police Department. She was transported to a local hospital where her condition became critical, according to the police report. The police went to the house on West Commerce but no one answered the door. They found three spent shell casings in the backyard.
