Health experts have agreed that the fridge staple can help to reduce feelings of nausea.
Suffering from travel sickness is never ideal, for both the person and whoever they happen to be travelling with.
Darcy McQueeny, known as Darcymcqueenyyy on TikTok, shared a video of herself sniffing a lemon that she'd cut in half, in order to curb feelings of nausea she was experiencing whilst on public transport. Her video has been viewed an impressive 1.2 million times, with thousands of likes, and a comment section full of people tagging their pals and sharing their own anti-travel sickness tips.Another said: “I always use alcohol wipes or peppermint essential oil! Its a game changer.
According to Healthline, lemon can help reduce the effects of nausea. In a four-day study from 2014, 100 pregnant people inhaled either lemon essential oil or almond oil as soon as they felt sick.
