Akron police said Chyna Shepard, 21, died of her injuries the day after the shooting.
The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office said Gladys Sashay Ingersoll, 24, will be sentenced on Jan. 23. Akron police said Ingersoll shot and killed Chyna Shepard, 21, on July 29, 2022. Officer s were called out for shots fired, and according to police, a witness flagged them down and identified the suspect.
That’s when one officer fired his gun and struck her, according to Akron police. According to the prosecutor, a jury found Ingersoll guilty of murder, felonious assault and obstructing official business. “Gladys Ingersoll shot and killed Chyna Shepard at point-blank range, and I am grateful for the jury’s decision to hold Ingersoll accountable...
